The competition is open to primary schools across Northamptonshire.

Entries are welcome from all year groups.

While the competition is primarily aimed at Northamptonshire primary schools, we welcome interest from community groups, youth organisations and external educational or charitable bodies who may wish to get involved.

This could include:

• After-school clubs
• Holiday clubs
• Scouts, Guides and youth groups
• Arts and creative clubs
• Community organisations
• Charities and support groups
• Libraries and family hubs
• SEND or specialist provision groups

Participants should ensure submissions include the relevant information, including:

• Child’s first name
• Age or year group (where applicable)
• Organisation or school name
• Parent/guardian or organiser contact details

If you represent an organisation interested in participating, please contact us before submitting so we can support you appropriately.

Schools can decide how they would like to participate.

You may:

• Open it to the whole school
• Run it within a single class or year group
• Use it as an art club or enrichment activity
• Select entries internally before submission

The theme is broadly about what makes Northamptonshire special to the pupil.

This could include:

• Nature
• Local places
• Community
• Family & friendships
• Hobbies
• Creativity
• Sport
• Music
• Landmarks
• Anything meaningful to them

Festival or music themes are welcomed… but optional.

Schools may submit as many entries as they wish.

You are welcome to:

• Submit all entries

• Run an internal shortlist and submit selected work.

Schools can upload:

• Individual files
• Multiple files
• PDFs
• ZIP folders containing multiple entries

We accept:

Photographs or scans of physical artwork are absolutely fine.

Schools may submit entries together using one submission form.

Yes.

Hand-drawn, painted, mixed media and digital artwork are all welcome.

We recommend using the entry sheet where possible.

However, alternative formats may be accepted provided submissions clearly include:

• Child’s first name
• Age or year group
• School name

Absolutely.

The competition can be delivered as:

• An art lesson
• Creative homework
• Cross-curricular work
• Enrichment activity
• After-school club project

Schools are responsible for obtaining any parental/guardian permissions required under their own policies.

By submitting artwork, schools confirm they have appropriate permission for participation and showcase use where necessary.

No.

While schools are welcome to coordinate and submit entries on behalf of pupils, children and families may also complete entries at home and submit independently.

Home entries are absolutely welcome.

To be eligible, submissions must include:

• Child’s first name
• Age or year group
• School name
• Parent/guardian or teacher contact details

Selected entries may:

• Be displayed at Roseshire Festival
• Appear on a Community Artwork Wall
• Feature on Roseshire digital channels or promotional materials
• Be considered for official festival merchandise

Submission Deadline: Friday 27th June 2026

Late entries may not be eligible for judging or showcase consideration.

Selected entries and winners are expected to be announced in July 2026.
